Believe it or not this image was taken in a bedroom with the model sitting on the edge of a bed facing a small window.Time
I believe we captured this in the morning about nine. The morning light coming through the window is absolutely magic at that time of day.Lighting
All natural light.Equipment
D600 with a 50mm F1.8 lens shot at F2.8. ISO 100 at 1/100 shutter speed. Now for the cool part. I used a piece of plexiglass and a spray bottle of water for the shower look! You have to experiment with the spray bottle and make sure not to get unwanted reflections in the plexiglass but it's a lot of fun!Inspiration
Actually I saw a guy on youtube do something similar and thought I'd try it. I wish I could remember the link but I'm sure you can find it.Editing
I used Lightroom 5.0 for this. Not much really I darkened the background while boosting the highlights and brought up the clarity. In my camera bag
I love my primes! 50 1.8 is always there and my favorite 85 1.4. I usually have the 70-200 2.8 in there but rarely use it to be honest. A couple of SB 700's with a wireless trigger for off camera work. Recently I purchased a Fujifilm XT-1 with a 35mm lens to try my hand at street shooting.Feedback
Have patience, never take yourself too serious, and remember to have fun! When shooting nudes or implied nudes the trick is making absolutely sure your model is comfortable. If he or she is even a little apprehensive it will show in the image. With this image I was going for a sensual illusion. The focus is on the drops of water but the play of light and position of her head on her shoulder make for an enticing story. So with low light shots like this I start with a full auto shot and then use those numbers for a start in manual mode adjusting until I have what I want. If you have gone ten minutes without getting it take a break, give a robe to your model and regroup. I find stepping back from a situation can bring clarity to it. I wish everyone luck and captures of brilliant moments!!
