Behind The Lens
Location
Beech, Alton, Hampshire, EnglandTime
It was taken at about 10am.Lighting
The light was fairly flat as it was a cloudy day,Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III which I hand held, Lens was a 24-70mm L series set at 70mm. and at f2.8 to give a blurred background.Inspiration
I had been looking at the bluebells all week and thought Lulu was the perfect person to feature in among them. I had booked her for a two hour session on a studio day at a local studio but when I turned up I asked her if she minded going outside on a field trip.Editing
There was some post processing in Lightroom to bring out the colours, apply a vignette and adjust the crop.In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 24-70mm Zoom and use that most of the time. For longer shots I use a Canon 70-200mm Zoom. I use these Zoom lesnses most of the time as I tend to be a bit lazy. I also carry a Sigma 50mm f1.4 Prime Lens which is great for really nice bokeh.Feedback
A sunny day would have ruined this shot as the trees cast too many shadows. There is a small window when the bluebells are good so you have to make time to do it when they are the their best.
