Definitely the most photographed tree ever, it's even got its own Facebook page! As soon as I saw this I knew it was Wanaka

Location
The photo was taken just after dawn in late-autumn on the shore of Lake Wanaka, New Zealand.Time
I walked from our motel on a chilly morning in April to join a small group of photographer already in position just after sunrise to catch the beautiful morning lightLighting
The autumn colours were stunning at that time of the year, so I was wanting to capture the golden hues in the trees, and in the lake reflectionsEquipment
I used a Canon 60d and kit lens with a tripod.Inspiration
I had heard about the "lonely tree" at Wanaka - reputed to be the most photographed tree in the world - and I wanted to see if I could capture a "different" take of it.Editing
I have used Lightroom sliders to improve the image, and Photoshop clone tool to remove extraneous floating material from the lake surface. In my camera bag
I am mainly a bird photographer now, so pack my Canon 7dmk2, Canon 100-400mm IS USM 11 and Canon 1.4 converter.Feedback
For this particular tree...………….get there early! Typically there are crowds of photographers all jostling for position!
