I took this photo at Minim Cove Park, Perth, Australia. I love bird and wildlife photography so most of my photos are from out in nature.Time
Took this picture during my first days in Perth. It was a beautiful summer morning. A friend had already spotted the Tawny frogmouths there earlier wanted to show them to me. After an early morning photo tour around various reserves we reached there at around 10am. The birds are mostly nocturnal so they sleep throughout the day.Lighting
The sun was beating hard on that day and the shadows were quite harsh. These birds were sleeping in the shade of the tree, so just a shade white balance and the custom settings I have set on my camera for birds in shade and I got this lovely photograph.Equipment
This photo was shot on a Canon EOS 7D with a Canon 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM lens.Inspiration
Nature has always captured me with its beauty and I try to capture its beauty within my photographs. Be it in the dry deciduous forests of Central India, the Rain forests in Indonesia or the Eucalyptus forests in Australia, nature has it's own beauty in each of them. I have loved every second that I spent in the wilderness. The camouflage that these Tawny Frogmouths exhibit are second to none. Very difficult birds to find. Takes a keen eye and knowledge of what to look for. Amazingly beautiful animals.Editing
I usually use Canon DPP and Adobe Photoshop for post-processing. Fortunately for me, this photograph did not require much of post-processing.In my camera bag
My camera bag consists of my Canon 7D camera body, a Canon 50mm, Canon 18-55mm kit lens, Canon 18-200mm lens and my Canon 100-400mm telephoto zoom lens. I carry my charger, extra batteries, CF cards, lens and camera cleaning kit and silicone gel sachets to keep the moisture away. The latest addition to my gear has been a Macro extension tube set. Not too expensive one but just trying it out. Looking to add in a dedicated macro lens.Feedback
Enjoy every photo you take. In nature stay calm and respect mother nature. Respect the personal space of animals and birds. Never use unethical means to capture animal images. Breath in the fresh oxygen in wilderness areas and maintain the tranquility of the wild.
