Location
This photo was taken in a chalet, up north in Canada. It was around the end of fall, and Andi was freezing in this cute light dress. We went there for the whole day, thinking we will be able to take our time for each sets of clothes, but in the end, when we arrived it was raining, so we had to shoot the whole set in the afternoon, in a really short time, since in Quebec around october the night starts at 16h30 !Time
This picture is my favorite !!! and it's the last one we took this day ! I think it was around 16h... the sun was almost down, but I saw this chair when we arrived and I knew I had to shoot there!!! I instantly loved the colors of those faded flowers that contrasted with the green old chair !Lighting
I wanted this picture to look dark, natural and sensual, I didn't need any artificial light, the ambient light was sufficient.. but I had to be quick, because after this shot it was almost dark outside !Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5D mark II, no tripod only because I like to move alot around my models when shooting, no flash, and a 70-200mm 2.8 for a nice bokeh !Inspiration
I was shooting a full editorial this day, and this place attracted me insantly when I saw it ! I knew right from the beginning that I had to shoot there !! but strangely enough I didn't start with this place right away, because I was following the sun... nontheless, even if the sun was almost down, I took my chances and tried, because this place was shouting Fall, and my inspiration for this Editorial was an Autumn's tale ! Mysterious & sensual.Editing
I Always post-process my pictures, I start with a color grading in Phase One, then I do a basic cleaning retouching in Photoshop, and finish with a bigger color grading still in photoshop for creating the ambiance I had in mind.In my camera bag
It depends of the bag ! My day to day bag is really small and my camera is my phone !. My working bag, or camera bag always have a 50mm 1.4 and a 100 mm 2.8 ! a spare battery, spare Memorry cards, some Kimtech, tissues, water, medecine, and of course my 5D mark II.Feedback
To capture something like that, the most important thing is to connect with your model !!! for the background, look for colors that go well together, always have in mind that since you are going for a bokeh what is important is the colors, not really the details.
