The rugged textures of the rocks frame the sky and clouds so well. The rugged rocks and the smoother sky contrast in textures and in color also. The clouds look like a morning sky with dawn light.

Behind The Lens

Southern Utah

This place was magical, even more than my picture can show. I climbed up a huge rock that gave a nice overview on the canyon and stayed there until the stars cae out.
Equipment
I used a Sony A900 with the Zeiss 16-35 f/2.8
Inspiration
The landscape and the silence were really special and this area was huge. so with the panoramic picture I tried to capture that size insted of just capturing the monument in the middle.
Editing
yes, it is a panorma image and around 8 images have been stiched together.
In my camera bag
the Sony A7RII with a 16-35 , a 50mm and a 70-200 lens
Feedback
Always be curious what there is around the next corner. This washout had actually a little small "entrance" to the main canyon. But it was good that we took the detour.
