This is one of the best monochrome landscapes I have ever seen. Ansel Adams would be proud.

Behind The Lens

Location

Taken in Italian Dolomity

Time

Taken at noon

Lighting

Angle of sun rays and steep Mt Pelmo created special light condition and three dimensional look of the mountain.

Equipment

Canon 50D and Canon 70-300 tele lens

Inspiration

Scene itself, play of light and shadows, as well as special clouds which appeared rather quickly around the Mt Pelmo, that all was the reason to press the trigger.

Editing

BW conversion using LR

In my camera bag

5D M 2, Canon lenses, 18-40, 24-70, 70-300mm

Feedback

Just to observe the scene around carefully and keep in mind that there is always possible to take nice picture, even if the sun is up ..
