The sun is just peaking over the foothills as a storm is rolling in from behind. This resulted in a classic silhouette.Equipment
Canon 1D-X with a sturdy Manfrotto tripod and Lee 'Big Stopper' 10-stop ND filterInspiration
I was searching google maps and noticed the structures in the water, realizing it would make a nice time exposure. When I arrived there was another photographer there. We both went about our business and eventually talked. After showing each other a few photos, he shared some local photo spots and advice. We still follow each other on Facebook which is very motivating.Editing
Not a lot, just minor tweaking in LRIn my camera bag
A tripod at all times and some nd filters and graduated filters. Lately a flashlight for light painting.Feedback
A sturdy tripod is a must. The ND filter will enable long exposures to create the eerie water effect.
