I took this photo outside of Kingman, AZ in an area coined as Black Bridge.Time
I took this photo just after the sun dipped below the mountains so the light wasn't harsh, but soft and glowey or glowee....glowey totally needs to be a word.Lighting
I placed my daughter with her back directly behind the sun. It is hard to tell, but there is a bridge right behind her and it framed the setting sun perfectly creating a neat effect. I waited till the sun was just setting or even partially behind the mountains and it cast this beautiful soft golden light.Equipment
I own a Canon 6D and used my 70-200mm lens set at 190mm. The settings were iso 400 f2.8 at 1/160(erp, a little low, but it turned out tack sharp). I didn't use a reflector or flash with this image.Inspiration
I took this photo just as the weather started warming up and was hoping for wild flowers. I didn't find any, but made use of the beautiful textures or Arizona.Editing
Yes, I do quite a bit and it involves a lot of layers and masking. I always want my images to be rich of color and emotion and I try to post process to reflect that.In my camera bag

My advice is to be patient and ready. My daughter was sitting here waiting for me to take her photo, she wasn't posed, she was just being herself. I saw her and immediately wanted to capture the moment and I did. Sitting back and just being present in the moment is the best advice that I can give, oh and make sure your lens cap is off. ;)
