Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was take in the living room by the balcony window. The sun have the perfect natural light for the picture.

Time

The photo was taken in the early evening about and hour in a half before sunset.

Lighting

I love capturing natural light and never use a flash. The light in the picture was coming directly into the window which only happens briefly since the window faces north.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a Nikon D7100 using a fixed 35mm lense. It was a hand held shot while sitting on the floor. Only natural light was used.

Inspiration

This was actually the very first picture I took with the 35mm lense after I bought it. I wanted to practice creating a picture with depth. Never expected it to become one of the best shots I would ever take.

Editing

This picture has zero post processing. What you see is what the camera took.

In my camera bag

In my bag I have my camera and 3 lenses. I keep a 18-140mm for typical shots, a 70-300mm for wild life photography, and a 35mm for landscape/night photography/ and images with depth. I keep a couple polarizers in my bag, but I have learned I get the same results with better quality if I use photoshop to adjust the brightness from a RAW photo. I keep a tripod with me, and a remote for if the shot requires more clarity.

Feedback

After months of trying to capture certain shots, I found my best pictures were pictures like this one which I didn't plan. Keep your eyes open and find the beauty in what around you. Don't try to create beauty, because it will never be better than the beauty that's already there.
