This is one of the oldest rock-cut temples viewing over Bay of Bengal located in Mahabalipuram built by Pallavas during 700-728 AD . Pallavas ruled from their capital city 'Kancheepuram' and they had their in 'Mahabalipuram. This was photographed from the lighthouse nearby which gives a bird's eye view of the architecture. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in India.
