Location
This is the Grand Island Lighthouse in Munising, MI.Time
I believe it was about 6 or 7pmLighting
I have seen many different photographs of this lighthouse...but with the sun coming from behind and the reflection off the water cause a higher degree of contrast. At least that is how I saw it. LOLEquipment
Nikon D3100 and 75mm-200mm lens was all that was needed for this shot.Inspiration
I was a very high humidity day and as I said it just added to the contrast between what seemed like wet worn wood and the chunking between the boards.Editing
I used Photoshop to bring the shadows and high lights to the what they looked like in real life. I use the Curves tab in Photoshop and tell it where the darkest shadows were and where the highlights were...and that was all I had to do.In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D3100. I always carry with me my 50mm - 80mm but my prize lens are my 75mm - 200mm and 500mm Mirror lens. Taking Nature Photography pictures like animal...the 500mm lens can not be beaten.Feedback
The best advice I can give and take as many pictures as possible from every angle. After taking a bunch of photos you will find one that you will like.
