Third version of Calypsophot, in a way the best underwater analog amphibious camera ever made. Entirely mechanical, model III had all the problems of previous models solved. Recommended to depths of -40 meters, it was able to withstand more than double that, thanks to its good project and excellent manufacture. I have taken it more than once under -80 meters (9 Atm pressure) with no ill efects whatsoever.
No wonder that the lack of its digital version is still my favorite beef!
My diving buddy uses up several remaining frames to photograph the seastar turning over. Then the film was taken out and processed.
We used to process our E-6 slidefilms outdoors, mid campsite, rather than wait to have them processed after the vacation. That way, if anything went wrong we could still go dive and re-shoot.

Brilliant presentation and riveting accompanying story of days of old... One small disappointment: a total lack of snakes! :))

Oh, but there are "snakes"... only these are called eels and moray eels, since this is the [Adriatic] sea. Which has even more sorts of assorted teeth for connoisseurs - all the way from the "fireworm" thru the blue shark (Prionace glauca) et al. So, don't worry! :)
