Located on the Downie River in Downieville, California off Highway 49 is this great old power house. At one time it provided water power to turn a shaft that went across the road to a metal working shop. The machinery was all run on belts with a drive shaft down the middle of the building. The operator used this cabin as his home, and workshop all in one building.
