Location
This image was captured in the Bruce Peninsula National Park, near Tobermory, Ontario. This landmark is the famous grotto, a popular place to hike in the summer. In the winter it is a totally different experience... it turns into an icy landscape as the waves of Georgian Bay crash along the escarpment.Time
After an hour and a half drive from our home in Owen Sound, we arrived at the trail at 9 am to begin our hour long snowshoe hike to this location. It was a very cold morning and lots of fresh snow creating a winter wonderland.Lighting
Even light of the day provided a shot without shadows.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon 6dInspiration
The spectacular scenery inspired me.Editing
Post processing was just the usual sharpening and saturation. In my camera bag
I usually hike with my Canon 6d with a 24-70Lf 2.8 lens on and my 70-200L f4 lens in my bag. Unless I am looking for wildlife, then I carry my Canon 100-400L lens.Feedback
A trip to the Bruce Peninsula National Park is worth doing. Take care of when you go as it is getting very popular. Pick a weekday in the winter. Forget the summer altogether as you need to book in advence.
