When you look closely at this image you have a boat not capable of moving through time yet you have captured movement of time with the sky. This is a very good image. Great contrast and balance. A job well done.

Location
This photo was taken in Mourisca (Setúbal district in Portugal). Known for it's tide mill, Mourisca i'ts located in the Natural Reserve of the Sado Estuary, nearby my home place.Time
Mourisca it's a magical place, for those who love photography. Why? The sunrise appears just in front of the pier. And, with high tide and great sky, it's easy to take beautiful shots. On that day I arrived one hour earlier than the sunrise, about 5:30 a.m.Lighting
The shot was taken at dawn and the sky was a little overcast. The right conditions to get ethereal effect.Equipment
This shot was taken with my Sony a7 with minolta af 17-35mm lens. If my memory does not fail to me, I think I used a 6 stops nd filter from Formatt-Hitech.Inspiration
Mourisca it's a very photographed place, with beautiful images, typically of sunrise... What I inspired me to take this photo was to get something different, something cooler than the warm colors of the sunrise.Editing
This image didn't required too much post-processing. The main changes done was moving the white balance to get a more cold blue color. The purpose was to give a mysterious and surreal environment to the place. In my camera bag
For seascape photography I typically use my full frame camera and a very wide angle lens. Lately, I have been using the Sony a7 with sigma 12-24. I use the wonderpana free arc filter system from fotodiox. A big filter system, but very well made. For street shots, my go to camera it's my old sony nex-5r and the fujian 35mm lens. Fujian it's a poor quality but funny lens to play with.Feedback
Days before: scout, study possible compositions, see the safety of the place. On the day before: see the tide and the weather that will be at the sunrise, and if it met your expectation. On the day: Get up early... Drink a coffee... Arrive to location earlier... And be patient... Sometimes what you get it's not what you expect, even with preparation. Sometimes you get better.
