Excellent capture of a very interesting character. This viewer wonders if this man is the owner, rider, handler, but certainly looks comfortable in his surroundings. Excellent tack sharp image of this expressive face.

Location
This photo was taken in Washington DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. The gentleman was one of the cowboys getting ready for the parade to start.Time
It was late morning.Lighting
The day was relatively cloudy and the lighting was very flat and gray.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7000 with the 70-200mm f2.8 zoom lens. It was shot hand held @ 200mm f2.8 1/400sec iso200Inspiration
The street was very hectic with horses and crowd getting restless. But this gentleman cowboy had the most intense stare and focus. He stood out.Editing
The photo was converted to black and white and processed in Nik Silver efex and Lightroom for contrast. In my camera bag
I now carry Nikon D750 with 4 lenses in my bag. 14-24 f/2.8 24-70 f2.8 and the 70-200 f/2.8. I also have a 50mm f1.4 for night and portraits. Tripod, shutter remote, and filters (ND-10 stop, Variable ND 1-8 stop, circular polarizer) are also part of my kit.Feedback
If you have a long lens like the 70-200mm use it to isolate the subject and blur out the background. Look for an interesting face and activity.
