Location
This photo was taken in my living room, on the couch, while my husband was holding our newborn son.Time
It was sometime in the afternoon.Lighting
It was a spontaneous shot so there was no special lighting. It was all natural light mostly coming from a big window to the left.Equipment
I believe I used my Sony A7 for this shot. Can't remember the lens, but if I had to guess it was my carl zeiss 50mm.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this because my husband was holding our son like that in his hands and our son was really tiny. I remember seeing his little head in my husband's big hands and just wanted to remember that moment.Editing
I converted to black and white because I thought it would be more dramatic. My husband was wearing a black shirt so the background was pretty dark already. In my camera bag
Right now I shoot with with my Sony A7III. For indoor sessions I just my Carl Zeiss 50mm but outdoors I uses my 85mm or 70-200mm. Always natural light for me!Feedback
If using natural light, make sure you have a good amount of light preferably to one side. Have the person who is holding the baby wear black so its easy for post processing. Using a lens at f1.8 is great so the background is really blurred.
