i'd been trying to get a shot of a robin for ages, but not having much of a zoom lens I need to get close & they usually fly away. then I saw this one & it just sat on the wall, I think it was posing for me. it does look young, so maybe it's not so nervous yet.

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo along a country lane in Kent, England where I am a postman / mailman
Time
it was taken about 1300 hours
Lighting
this was just natural light , a bit of an overcast day
Equipment
I used my canon 700D, by hand & leaning out of the window of my works van
Inspiration
I carry my camera with me at work most days. although I do the same rural route daily there is always something different to see at different times of the year, be it plants, trees, scenery or animals. I've seen a lot of robins , but they always fly away before I can get a shot. I was driving slowly along a lane & saw this one on a wall, so I stopped & got my camera out , fully expecting it to fly away. to my surprise it just sat there while I got some nice photo's. it does look a bit fluffy, so i'm assuming it's a young bird.
Editing
I did crop the image & boosted the colour slightly
In my camera bag
I always carry an 18 - 55 mm & 55-250mm lens, a few filters, wide angle & macro lens & cleaning cloths etc. quite a basic kit.
Feedback
I am just a novice, trying different things & hopefully learning along the way. the majority of my animal shots are luck, being in the right place at the right time. this shot was just on automatic, as i'm not too adept at all the settings yet.
