Great shot and nice composition, I love the leading lines and the whole story behind this image.

I took this photo in one of my favorite places, it is called Verger´s Tower and is placed in the west coast of the beautiful island of Mallorca, in Spain. Due to its orientation it is possible to enjoy amazing sunsets.Time
This picture was taken on August 15, 2014 at 9:02 PM.Lighting
All the light here is natural light coming from the sun. I decided to put the sun behind one of the branches of the trees to reduce slightly its intensity and avoid flares.Equipment
This was shot on my Nikon D7000 with an 18-70mm f3.5-4.5 DX. No extra equipment was involved.Inspiration
When the girl in the red dress appeared on the scene, I imagined a scene that reminded some stories of princesses and castles. That's the atmosphere I've tried to create with this image.Editing
Yes, I have used Lightroom to process the raw file. I adjusted the profile to camera standard, it brings more saturation and contrast to the image. Then I lifted shadows because exposition was measured for the clouds. I recovered highlights too, it brought more detail and saturation in areas near the sun. Then I reduced clarity and increased saturation. After that, I applied a gradient filter in order to reduce exposition of the sky. Finally, I applied some local adjustments to the tower, areas near the Sun and branches of bushes in the foreground using the adjustment brush tool.In my camera bag
It depends somewhat on the type of photographs that I plan to do. If for example, I go to take landscape photos I usually pack my Tamron 15-30mm f2.8, the tripod and my filters kit (Haida ND1000, Nisi circular polarizer and Nisi reverse GND8). On the other hand, if I go to take portraits, I usually pack two prime lens, a Nikon 105mm f2 DC and a Tamron 85mm f1.8, I love to shot portraits with this two lenses. I also carry with me a reflector and two flash with stands and umbrellas. From time to time I pack my Tamron 15-30mm to take a different kind of portraits. Of course my Nikon D750 body goes always with me.Feedback
Sometimes you plan the picture you want to take, but for various reasons things do not go as expected, many times for worse and a few for better. This photo is an example of the latter one... I had been to this place many times before and had never been satisfied with the results. I think I was trying to include to many elements in the composition and it did not work. This time, I planned to take the picture when the sun reached the horizon line. I had just positioned the tripod at the desired location and placed the filter holder and GND filter to the lens when the girl with the red dress arrived. Quickly I removed the filter and got closer to the girl to take some shots. This is the one that works fine for me, including the road and railings in the frame to “guide the eye". It is good to be prepared for the unexpected and change the plan if we consider than the result can be worthwhile.
