I took this photograph on a lovely Autumn day at West Burton Falls, Yorkshire.Time
One of my favourite images from the trip I took to West Burton Falls. This image was taken around mid-day. I was trying to capture the natural sunlight coming through the trees on the top third of the photograph, so it would light the leaves up. I managed to get some of the light coming through, which I love.Lighting
Unfortunately, the natural lighting from the sun did not come through for me on this day, but I love the lighting in the water from the reflections of the water cascading down and this creates a lovely mystical approach.Equipment
This photograph was captured on a Panasonic Bridge Camera. I used a tripod to make sure I could capture the water with a high exposure setting.Inspiration
I was inspired by my Grandad who loves taking photographs of waterfalls and has taken photo's of this one before. He came along with me on the day and gave me a few tips to make sure I got good quality images - it was a very fun day!Editing
I always bring in my photographs to Photoshop, just to see if I can do slight adjustments such as increase the hue and saturation of the colours to bring the more natural lighting that was there on the day and adjust the sharpness to make the photograph really crisp. In my camera bag
The equipment I have in my bag normally includes, My Panasonic Bridge Camera, a cleaning brush so I can get any dust off the lenses before taking the perfect shot. A fill-in flashlight so the flash on the camera itself is not so harsh.2 filter lenses a Polarising and a UV filter. A spare SD card which always comes in use as I always seem to take way more photographs and fill up my card! A few sweets as you never know when you could get peckish, some napkins, and I've just found some spare change in my bag - which could come in handy!Feedback
Make sure to try out different positions, get low down, stand on some rocks to get a higher perspective and if you don't have a tripod at hand to capture that flow of water and be certain you have a good steady hand!
