Congratulations on your challenge win! Reminds me of a park near the town where I grew up that had an area devoted to deer. I would visit the deer every time I went to the park.

Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in the foothills of Mt. Phillips. Part of the Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico. One of the Boy Scouts Of America High Adventure Camps. Day two of a ten day backpack trek.

Time

It was late afternoon.

Lighting

It was a semi cloudy day and mother nature filtered the light just perfectly.

Equipment

The camera was a Camedia e10. I chose this camera because I was on an extreme backpacking trek where every ounce I carried mattered.

Inspiration

This image is the result of being in the right place at the right time. It had been a very busy day and this was the first free moment I had all day.

Editing

Post processing was nothing more than an auto correct for exposure, The change was minimal. I took that as a sign that the image was as good as it could be.

In my camera bag

I normally carry a Nikon D3200. My main lens is a Sigma 17mm to 50mm. I also have a Nikon 55mm to 200mm zoom. I never leave home without a circular polorizer and a nutral density filter for every lens in my bag. I also have a close up filter set and a few special effect filters. Because I feel that the single best investment any photographer can make is a quality tripod i have a Vanguard tripod that is very versatile and a shutter release cord.
