Behind The Lens

Location

There's a long steep staircase to a little section of beach in Uluwatu, a part of Bali.

Time

this was taken mid afternoon. I was scouting spots and still came out with nice photo.

Lighting

since it was the middle of the day I used a Tiffen ND , 10 stops , and a polarizer.

Equipment

I was using a Canon 60D , mefoto tripod , Tiffen circular polarizer and Tamron 24/70 lens.

Inspiration

I love long exposure shots along coastal areas. the woman in the photo was a backpacker I had just met and didn't realize I was shooting her. it added a nice dimension to the shot and fit nicely with the long exposure aesthetic.

Editing

just some basic raw post processing. this is a single exposure and pretty straight from the camera.

In my camera bag

always a normal zoom , wide zoom and a tripod.

Feedback

With long exposure shots it's always nice to have one particular element that stands out. in this case it's a woman in thought. Other shots of mine will usually have some kind of structure , or tree in the water or just something that stands out. It needs to make the composition full.
