Behind The Lens

Location
The photo was taken in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in January. Lake "Blue" is the deepest in Europe-the depth is more than 300 meters by echo sounder, but it is not more accurately measured. The temperature is constant around +9° C. Large mineralization, so the fish is not found. Favorite place for training divers. The maximum diving depth is 212m. The picture was taken in the late afternoon, during a light snowfall and fog. I was lucky, for a minute there was a faint light in the sky and the sun reflected on the water, which I took advantage of. I was shooting with a Canon 1Ds Mark III camera, EOS 28-300mm lens. The two yellow buoys, which are visible from the right, have cables attached to them at a depth of 40m, a small platform is fixed on which divers rest during decompression. The light from the fog and clouds was diffuse and gave almost no shadows, the water was only the reflection of trees. Post processing was performed first in Capture One Pro 11, and then in Photoshop. PS I use because C1 does not remove spots on the matrix qualitatively. Unfortunately, this problem with cleaning matrix spots is not finalized in the latest version of Capture One 20. In this case, LR is much better, although in many ways I like C1 better. I apologize for the mechanical translation.

In my camera bag
I most often currently (by 80% ) use the Fujifilm X T-20 and fixed lenses to it, since the weight has decreased by several orders of magnitude compared to the backpacks in which I carried professional equipment Canon or Nikon. But when there is serious work to be done, I prefer the Nikon D800E, Nikkor 14-24mm, 1:2.8 G ED, Nikkor 24-70mm 1:2.8 G ED, Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8 G II ED, Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8 G ED, a set of neutral and gradient filters LEE, tripod Manfrotto, flash and small things batteries, memory cards and so on. I don't forget to put silica gel in my backpack. I use the Lowepro photo editor. The weight of the backpack reaches 15kg without a tripod. It's not very fun to walk in the mountains ( I like to shoot landscapes). That's why I often shoot Fuji, with it the bag weighs no more than 4kg .
Feedback
If you do not need to shoot for banners, use mirrorless devices with a form factor of 1.5 -1.6. the Quality will not suffer, especially if you use fixed optics, and in terms of weight you will greatly benefit. It doesn't matter which company your device is from , the main thing is to watch other people's photos more often and learn from other people's mistakes, but don't forget to improve and not be offended by criticism.
