When you were in Williamsburg, did you have some of the delicious gingerbread? Excellent shot. Looks like you could step into this scene and feel yourself living in colonial times.

Hi Carol, We spent a week in Williamsburg and had the gingerbred several times. We were lucky one day and got it fresh out of the oven.I agree with you that you feel like you are back in history while you are there. We found out that my husband's 5th great uncle played a role in the Revolutionary War at Williamsburg. I'm glad you like the photo. Thank you.

Location
I am a history enthusiast and love to visit Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. Part of the historic area is the Great Hopes Plantation. It is an actual working plantation where people demonstrate how things were done in the 1700's.Time
I took this photo about 10:30 AM. The young lady in the photo had just picked some vegetables from the garden and was mixing the dough for the biscuits for the noon meal.Lighting
I took this with natural light that was shining through the open window.Equipment
This is a handheld shot taken with my Nikon Coolpix P510.Inspiration
I took this photo because it shows how people survived without all the modern conveniences. Life was simpler.Editing
I do my post processing in Lightroom. I set the white and black points. I adjusted the highlights and shadows to bring out more detail. In my camera bag
I carry with me my Nikon P510 & P900 cameras with which I can easily take macro to telescopic photos. I carry two 8 x10 pieces of foam board. One is black and one is white on one side and aluminum foil attached to the other to affect the lighting. I take my tripod and my case containing my adapter and UV, CPL, FLD and Neutral Density Filters.Feedback
Take your time and don't be afraid to make changes to your camera settings until you get the photo you can see in your minds eye.
