As soon as the weather got nice, we took the chance to go outside a have a photo shoot.

Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Groningen The Netherlands while strolling on the street.

Time

I remember not being able to sleep and deciding to pick up a camera and go out on the street at 5am to have a walk and fresh air.

Lighting

I wanted this to look raw and street like with the sad dramatic lighting bouncing off the water reflections on the ground so I kneel down to get the reflection in the shot as well.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon 550D with a 18-135mm lens.

Inspiration

My main reason to take this shot was colour of the bike and the background graffiti which matched.

Editing

Yes, I added a silhouette on the corners to draw the attention of the viewer to the centre.

In my camera bag

I don't carry a bag. Just the camera in my hand which at the time was Canon 550D with a 18-135mm lens.

Feedback

Timing, steady hand and eye for detail. Most important tho, just go for it if your instinct tells you so.
