Location
I took this photo in Sequoia National Park, we took a road trip up Northern California hoping to get photos in fresh snow. There were plenty of tourist/sightseers clicking pics of the famous General Sherman Tree, so I walked a bit deeper into the forest where I found this spot.Time
I'm guessing it was around 5:pm - 6:pm; we got there kind of late and the place was packed, I remember it took about 20 minutes to find a parking space. We were sort of in a rush because we didn't want to get stuck in the forest at sundown.Lighting
There's not to much to share about the lighting; the sky was a bit overcast and at the time that I posted the picture I was testing my skill at editing, (something I don't like to do much, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it!)Equipment
I have a Nikon 5500, I used an aftermarket manual fisheye lens and a Dolica tripod.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this pic because of the immediate opening in the middle with the boss tree in the center, surrounded by other Giant Sequoias; plus there were very few people.Editing
I have an older computer as well as an older version of Photoshop; so I experimented a little. In my camera bag
I'm pretty basic; I carry my aftermarket Fisheye, my Nikon kit lenses 18mm - 55mm, 55mm - 300mm and a Nikon 35mm 1.8 prime. Although I'm still new at it, I have filters, a cham (for lens cleaning), extra battery, binoculars, aquatic point & shoot camera, pepper spray, and a mini first aid kit. Oh, and I forgot the snacks!Feedback
Not really, although I've been taking pictures for years, I'm still relatively new with the DSLR. The only advice that I can offer is to Never Give Up! Photography is an art, and for some it takes years to master, there are so many talented people here on ViewBug. Remember, each time you see a Magnificent picture, take a moment to think about how long, and or what the photographers process was to achieve such greatness; then go back to the drawing board and master your craft!
