Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a forest in Upper Austria, where there was still snow.

Time

It was afternoon when we went for our photo tour, and the light was already kind of bad in the forest.

Lighting

As it was afternoon and we were beneath the trees, it was a bit darker than I would have liked already, but I think the result turned out okay.

Equipment

My camera is the Canon EOS 6D, and I used my 85mm 1.8, as it is probably my favorite lens.

Inspiration

I found this great scarf in a shop and immediately thought that I need to buy it and put it on my dog.

Editing

I needed to lighten the picture up quite a bit, and I did some slight retouch on the snow because it looked kind of dirty.

In my camera bag

I always have my camera, of course, my two favorite lenses, the 85mm 1.8 and 200mm 2.8, and a lot of dog toys, treats and usually a comb or brush in case my model gets a bit tangled :)

Feedback

Always make sure the animal is fine with being wrapped into a scarf. When working with animals, it's always important to give them time. And if something doesn't work out like you want it to, don't worry, the animal might have a even better idea than you did ;)
