Awesome place, my local beach! I see the sky is switched 180deg so it's not mirroring the sand reflection... did it really look better, sunset though right?

Location
This is photo is taken on the northernmost point on New Zealand's south island, Wharariki Beach.Time
We arrived at Wharariki Beach daytime where we went for a walk to the beach. I saw this iconic mountains in the sea and took some photos, but i werent satisfied with my result. A few hours later the sunset started to set and created some amazing colors. I took my gear and runned back to beach where i managed to capture this beauty.Lighting
Im a big fan of sunsets and etc. so for me it was just to have patience and wait for the original lightning coming in.Equipment
This photo was shoot with the Canon 5ds, 16-35mm II on a manfrotto tripod. No other equipment was necessary.Inspiration
First it was the mountains in the sea and with the long shallow beaches i wanted also to get the reflections of the sunset.Editing
I added some clarity to the foreground and increased the vibrance a little bit so i could get a stronger effect of the reflections. The sky i just added some contrast and reduced some of the highlights. The sunset was so intense that it wasnt much you could do to improve. In my camera bag
My bag is a Iowepro containing the Canon 5ds, Canon 11-24mm, Canon 16-35mm II, Canon 70-200mm II, a lot of lee filters for the wide angle lenses, remote controller for long exposures, flash, memory cards, manfrotto carbon fiber tripod and the canon 800mm 5.6(but it really doesnt fit my camera bag).Feedback
Like i did in this case was that i walked to this spesific beach without any plans, i was just scouting the area looking for good photo locations, by that meaning is you should always scout the area so you dont have to carry tons of gear for hours. Mark your locations and head back whenever your ready. Always be patienced so you can capture the right colors. Its a big difference from a blue sky compared to cloud formations and specially sunset/sunrise. Always remember to have fun as well.
