The photo was taken at my home studio in Illinois.Time
I wanted to try something new to add to my photography portfolio. I started playing with the lights set up. I used myself as a model just to see the results of the photo. It was evening time in my home studio.Lighting
I wanted this picture look a little dramatic, powerful of sending the message "There aren't things that we can't handle"Equipment
On this shot I used Canon EOS-1D, Mark II, Lens Canon 50 mm, Light trigger, Tripod, 2 lights with 2 softboxes with the black back drop behind meInspiration
A friend inspired me for trying something new in my photography.Editing
I converted picture to black and white in the Adobe photoshop CC 2015 where I also did some minor touch-ups to the skin.In my camera bag
When I take pictures out of the studio: Recently I got new camera Canon EOS 5D,Mark III so this will first priority in my bag as exchange for Canon EOS-1D , MarkII. Lenses: Canon EF 50 mm 1:1.8, Canon Zoom 20-35mm 1:2.8 , Canon 28-70mm F2.8 and Canon Zoom EF 70-300 mm 1:4-5.6, Canon Speedlight430EX II, Extra batteries and chargerFeedback
Drama comes from lighting but intensity comes from the eyes when doing a shot like this. Need to have black, black at least somewhere in the shot. That makes the hot pop out.
