I voted genius as to get all the pillars lined up with the horizon takes a sharp eye ,nounce and a lot of creativity,So GENIUS

I like how you positioned the piling tops with the horizon. Very nicely created and captured.

Great shot! Looks like the sky is being supported by the posts!

Location
For many years, I drove past this broken pier in Dunedin, FL and thought, "That would make a great photo." In February of 2015, I finally stopped and snapped a few shots. This was my favorite of the series.Time
This shot was taken at sunset on a night with really cool clouds and colors in the sky.Lighting
Since the sun was going down and my light was diminishing, I had my husband do some light painting of the front posts. He used the flashlight app on his cell phone to illuminate the posts more for the shot.Equipment
I used a Nikon D600 for the shot, along with a tripod, my husband's cell phone and a wide angle lens.Inspiration
The broken posts with the sailboat anchored near them intrigued me. I envisioned the pier intact and the owners of the boat using it to climb aboard the boat. It seemed like they had a history that needed to be captured.Editing
Since this shot is an HDR image, I first combined the individual shots in Nik software's HDR Efx Pro II. After they were combined, I edited the final image in Lightroom. In my camera bag
My bag always has my camera, obviously; a prime lens, a telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, a shutter release cable, extra cards and batteries, and my tripod.Feedback
What really makes this photo intriguing, in my opinion, is how the pier posts align with the horizon. It's a bit of an optical illusion and can easily be accomplished by setting your tripod at the perfect height to line the two together.
