Just fantastic - so many elements that combine perfectly, it's beautifully imagined and exquisitely realised. Brava!

Looks almost as if we are peering into his world in a snow globe ! Great shot.

Location
This photo was taken in a small field not too far from where I live. It appears to be an old thru-way and I absolutely love the natural symmetry it provides and the length of the opening leaves so much room to create that gorgeous blur.Time
This was taken right before lunch during our very first "real" snow of the season. I had just picked up my little guy at preschool and he was so delighted to see the snow falling so it wasn't hard to convince him to go with me to try and catch some of the magic together!Lighting
What's so great about this location is that it really does have a natural opening that allows the light to come through to highlight the subject in the middle. I love how the light falls right into the center on overcast days and it's really beautiful on clear ones during golden hour with it coming through the trees on the right.Equipment
I shot this with my 135mm at f/2 on my Canon 6D.Inspiration
Honestly what inspired me was the squeals of joy coming from my five year old when he saw the snow begin to fall! Catching snowflakes on our tongues is always fun and I thought it would make for a really sincere and beautiful scene if I could maintain that joy with him in that location.Editing
This photo was processed first in Lightroom for some minor adjustments with contrast and white balance and then enhanced in Photoshop CS6 using a variety of things including gradients, color overlays, curves and also a slight radial blur masked off of the middle of the photo. In my camera bag
My bag is somewhat limited at the moment. I have built my small business around two lenses - my Canon 50mm 1.4 and my Canon 135mm 2.0 which I use on a Canon 6D. Both of those lenses are absolutely amazing and versatile and they didn't bankrupt me in purchasing them! I have several lenses on my wish list (including the Sigma Art 35mm, Canon 85mm 1.2 and Canon 200mm 2.0) and hoping in the coming years to have those in my bag as well!Feedback
I really strive for sincerity in my photos, especially of my own children because I know them so well. At one point in our lives, everything was magical and I LOVE when I capture that. Or even when they're ornery, or just being authentic kids, I'm thrilled to have gotten it. There's a photo in my gallery of one of my sons with his little hands in his pockets and he's looking right at me, connecting with me saying with his eyes, "You are ridiculous. I am so over this." It's just so him, and such a "boy" way to look - I strive for those moments. I also always shoot wide open as I love making my subjects the center of the story.
