Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was take at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km northeast of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka.

Time

Taken around noon in a tropical sunbursting environment

Lighting

Approaching tropical rainstorm gave a great background. The elephant were still in full sunshine.

Equipment

Sony SLA camera, standard 55-200 lens, handheld.

Inspiration

The sheer number of elephant crossing the river and the joy they had.
