This was taken at a friend's house when I visited her one afternoon for a coffee. Her cat Crash is a very affectionate pet who loves the attention. My camera was in my bag so I decided to get it out and take some snaps.Time
It was taken during the afternoon a lovely warm and sunny day. We were outside on the deck, enjoying our coffee and Crash was wondering around, jumping on various pieces of garden equipment trying to attract our attention. For this photo he was peering around a post quite close to us.Lighting
The photo was very much on the spur of the moment as I didn't go round to my friend with the intention of taking any photos but I do always carrying my camera around with me. It was a beautiful afternoon and the lighting was perfect.Equipment
It was a Canon E0S 1100D with a 70-300mm lens attached to it..I do carrying both that and a standard lens.Inspiration
It was just a spur of the moment decision and Crash looked so cute that I thought that it would be nice to take a few shots and share them with my friend who thought that they were wonderful, especially this one! He really is a handsome cat!Editing
I just centred it a little better and contrasted it so that the colours stood out a bit better but other than that nothing else.In my camera bag
I now carrying around a Canon E0S800D, usually my EFS 18-200mm lens for when I am working as a teaching assistant at the local primary school. As I am in charge of social media and taking photographs, I find it very handy for getting head and shoulder shots but also if I see something happening quite far away on the school court that is worth capturing and I can't leave where I am then it is very handy. If I go for my daily walks, I take either the 70-300mm lens or if I am specifically going bird watching I will take a bigger lens, the 100-400mm.Feedback
My advice to anyone is not to leave home without your camera even if it's for a short walk down to the shops, you never know what you might encounter on your way! Sometimes the most impromptu shots are the best!
