Wow. How can you get this much zoom using only 100 mm? Did you use extension tube or 2X converter -something like that? Amazing shot

Stunning macro - can't say a love the subject matter though. Fabulous shot.

This was after a lazy Sunday lunch and I noticed this fly was just as lazy as we were.Lighting
I used a Canon speedlight with a softbox on it.Equipment
I used my Canon 7D with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. The camera was handheld.Inspiration
I love macro photography. It gives you a real look as what those pesky little things look like. Afterwards, you think twice before swatting one again. I rather shoot them with a Canon.Editing
Simple and basic post-processing - contrast, brightness, sharpness and cropping. In my camera bag
I try to keep a variety in my bag but I never go anywhere without my macro lens. I also have a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle because I love landscapes. Then I have a Canon 24-105 and Canon 70-200mm f/4 at hand. When I know I go wildlife shooting, I take out the big guns like the Canon 100-400mm.Feedback
Macro is a specialized field. There are 3 important things to keep in mind: 1. Boundaries - such as DoF 2. Understand lighting and macro as combination 3. Keep reality in mind - movement because of wind, etc. It is worthwhile to do a macro course with someone that specializes in the field.
