Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken during my first ever portrait shoot. This image was shot when the shoot was done and the horse was put back in the barn.

Time

Image was taken in early afternoon.

Lighting

A small amount of daylight was coming thru a small window in the barn. Part of the horses body was lit by the sunlight, while the neck and head were in shadow.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a Canon 7D and a 70-20 f/4 L series.

Inspiration

After the photo shoot, we were in the barn talking as a group. I heard the horse make a noise, turned, and took about 8 photos. Had no idea this would be the result.

Editing

Post processing was done in Lightroom. Exposure was a little dark on image so I adjusted exposure to bring out the horses eye.

In my camera bag

Typical equipment in my camera bag is a Canon 7d. Lens choices are a 70-200 mm f/4 L series, a 300 mm f/4 L series lens and a 28-135 mm kit lens.

Feedback

My advice would be to practice, practice, practice. The more different subjects you take photos of, the better photographer you will be.
