The photo was taken at Adrian Pini Presents, a studio in north London that I like to use a lot.Time
The shoot was in the evening, but as it was in an indoor studio that probably hasn't had a great deal of influence on the photo!Lighting
I wanted a feeling of "classic" beauty, without the image falling into the trap of being an awkward parody. Using a strobe with beauty dish brought all of the positive feeling I was looking for, and avoided the faux-history that could have occurred with a more complicated setup.Equipment

I was looking to progress my portraiture and move it towards a more high-end finished product. The simple styling, and use of a classic photographic prop in the form of the lace helped achieve this, however the use of the transfer as opposed actual lace gave this shot the originality an otherwise would have been possible.Editing
Edited in Photoshop, but all fairly minor and non-destructive.In my camera bag
I always have my two camera bodies, my 50mm prime lens, a standard zoom, and often a telephoto. I don't carry much else with me, except for spare batteries and memory cards!Feedback
Study what has come before, bring some of the personality of the subject, and don't forget to aim for creating something you will personally be proud of.
