This beautiful iconic site on Downeast Maine is always worth a look when traveling to Acadia National Park. Located at the north end of Somes Sound, on Rt 102 in Somesville, ME. Sometimes considered the most photographed site on Maine’s larget island. And that is saying something when you consider all the beautiful images that come from legions of photographers visiting Acadia.
The building is the Selectman’s Building. built around 1780, when the town was originally settled. The arched bridge wasn’t added until 1981. My shot was taken in late August, unfortunately before the trees were at their autumn peak.
