Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken from my dorm's balcony in Belgrade.

Time

It was night time, and I heard a thunder outside so I've grabbed my camera and went outside. As I stood on the balcony the wind was blowing so hard to my face and rain splashing all over. I was crouching and waiting for the 30sec exposure while the wind was blowing the rain into my face and camera. You can clearly see water spots on the lens.

Lighting

This photo was not planned at all, I was studying in my room when I've heard the thunder. Just set the exposure to 30sec looked through the viewfinder and took the shot.

Equipment

Canon 650D with 10-18mm, the camera was situated at the wall of the balcony.

Inspiration

I like lightings and the sound of thunder as a millions of molecules get ionized. They are so powerful to me.

Editing

Beyond the usual white balance, highlights and shadows, I think that I've maybe increased a clarity and saturation a little bit to get the colors that were really there.

In my camera bag

Usually I carry my canon 650D with 10-18mm, and in a bag I have 18-55mm kit that I've got with the camera and 55-250mm.

Feedback

In order to get this kind of photos you must not fear to get wet and soaked. Because those few minutes of you uncomfort are for sure worth capturing the amazing shot, and the feeling afterwards when you look at the photo on the screen or print.
