Location
This photo was taken at one of my favourite woodland park that I've been going to since I was a child. I shoot on location for the majority of my shoots, with natural light so it's important to me to have somewhere that is interesting and diverse to work with.Time
We shot this during a cold day in early December. Winter is such a brilliant time to shoot on location because the days are shorter and sun is low in the sky, so the light is just beautiful and you can really take advantage of the golden hour. We had clear skies on this day and took advantage of the light by shooting different stories throughout the day.Lighting
I use natural light for 90% of my work and we were lucky to have so fantastic light on this day. When the light is this good I get so excited, I made everyone run over to where the sunlight was filtering down by this old stone bridge which was connecting two ridges either side. We had been provided wardrobe from accessory genius Karin at Rouge Pony, which included this amazing sheer dress which I knew would look amazing in the light. I climbed up the hill to the side of the bridge to get the angle and show the light through the dress and create that ethereal feel to the image.Equipment

When shooting I always plan in advance how I want my images to look. I create mood boards and discuss ideas with the team (MUA, model, stylist etc), and for this one I wanted to create something ethereal and romantic, especially since the wardrobe we had was very delicate, light and simple.Editing
I don't do extreme post-processing, as I prefer my photographs to have a natural look. I have manipulated the colours to get the magenta tones to the image, I have also used a layer mask to make sure that the magenta didn't cast the skin a strange alien look and to make sure I didn't loose the colour of the white dress and flower crown.In my camera bag
Honestly my minimum is my D600 and my Sigma 50mm 2.8. I absolutely LOVE that lens. But my next purchase is going to be a 35mm, and I cannot wait to try it out!Feedback
Shoot at golden hour. Use light to your advantage and try as many different ideas, poses, clothing anything that you think will work well in that light.
