Wonderful portrait, great lighting and colors. The picture looks so natural.

Your Portraits are well thought out, lit to produce mood, and timeless! It is nice to see someone producing images like this in the tradition of Curtis and Watkins!

Location
This was taken in the home of the subject. He's just an old cowboy and I tell him all the time that his decor sense runs toward " Barnyard Chic "..lolTime
It was taken about 1:30 in the afternoon..Lighting
I used a speed light in a 16x30 stripbox camera left for fill, and speed light in a beauty dish set camera right and low for the key light.Equipment
Shot this with a Nikon D4s and 24-70 F/2.8, Nikon lens, and two Yongnuo speedlights. The softbox was a Westcott 16x30 stripbox, and the beauty dish was a DIY dish that I put together.Inspiration
I love to shoot portraits of characters. and these two have nothing but character..Editing
The post work on this was done in a combination of Lightroom and PScc, then used a couple of the filters in Nik Color Efex to tone.In my camera bag
The camera bodies that I use are both Nikon, a D4s and a D700. I carry a Nikon 24-70, F/2.8 and a Nikon 70-200, f/2.8 with me all the time. I have other lenses but I have found in most situations that one of those two will do the job for me.Feedback
I do a lot of portrait work, and really enjoy photographing people that have lived life. The subject in this image is no exception, hard livin' and hard times have made him a very interesting subject. He's not the most willing model I have ever photographed, but most who have lived life aren't. I find it easier to get them in surroundings where they are comfortable, and then do more talking than shooting. Eventually they will forget the camera is there.
