Unfortunately South Africa has a dirty little secret that is slowly making headlines around the world. There are very few real sanctuaries in South Africa most are actually a cover for canned hunting operations. Tigers are not exempt from this and have been imported and bred in a number of facilities to be kept as pets, shot in canned hunts and or their bones used for tiger wine etc..

(please note that this particular Tigress (Shika) is not in a canned hunting facility but she is 'owned' by someone who exploits her for money)
