Behind The Lens

Location

The picture is taken just around the corner where I live in the city canal of Leeuwarden/Holland

Time

Late afternoon when the sun already starts to lower its position which is quite early in wintertime

Lighting

It was backlight but with the ice and snow the reflections made the shades lifted up a bit

Equipment

Nikon D800E/750 - 20mm/1.8 or the 28-300/5.6

Inspiration

It seldomly happens that these canals are frozen over so when you get the chance one takes it. In summer it is a city harbour and people swim in this water. Now even skate games were held.

Editing

Yes, in lightroom I adjusted the shades and gave it more contrast.

In my camera bag

D800E/D750 - for travel the 20 mm 1.8 and the 28-300 but for special occasions I like the 14-24 a lot- Lately I use the 85/1.4 regularly

Feedback

wait for a cold winter which is going to happen less and less so they say
