Love this! I have visited the Yellowstone falls a dozen times but never saw a rainbow. This is magnificent.

Location
Yellowstone National Park. This is the lower Yellowstone water falls.Time
The time was about 10:16am in the middle of August. I was on a photography tour thru Xanterra, in the famous historic yellow bus station wagons. The guide knew the exact time the rainbow would appear at the base of the falls and got us there with time enough to spare.Lighting
Most of my time spent in Yellowstone it was very cloudy, like it was going to storm any minute, yet it did not. I was very lucky on the day of the tour, the sun was shining! The tour guide had the knowledge of the rainbow taking place at certain times of the day. Sometimes it pays to get local knowledge of an area for your photography. Plus the tour was fun and educational! I learn a lot of new techniques to use in photography.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel T1I with a Sigma 18-250mm lens.Inspiration
The rainbow at the bottom of the falls, due to the angle of the sun at a particular time of day, really enhanced the shot. Some believe I photo shopped the rainbow in, but, that is not the case.Editing
I used Lightroom 5 for post processing. Mainly to tweak the photo, shadows, blacks, highlights and whites. In my camera bag
Now days I might have my Canon 5D Mark III and my Sony A7RII. I can use my canon lenses on the Sony with a Metabones Adapter. Prime lenses, 15mm Lateral Fisheye, 35mm, 50mm, 65mm and 28-300mm. Battery packs on both cameras with extra batteries. I am able to charge the batteries while I am driving. Tripods with a ball head and maybe a pistol grip for both cameras.Feedback
I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to live and work in amazing places. I started to live and work in National Parks back in 1998. My first National Park was the Everglades. Living in a unique environment such as these gives you the opportunity to catch the light in so many different ways, different seasons, weather, time of day and everything in between! How could one not get into photography? So many cameras and so many lenses and just not enough time! So why not eliminate travel time and just live there? That is what I decided to do, and it sure does beat living in a city. Although, I do miss photographing city life at times, and when I do I go to Vegas.
