Lovely shot, is it "staged for the shot or is it a sports capture from a real game?

Around NoonLighting
I chose noon cause I wanted a very harsh light on my model, so whenever I did the conversion to B&W and bump the contrast level up, his face and muscles would pop.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D600, using an 85mm lensInspiration
Action shots. I've always loved movement and dynamism on a photo. I think this photo gives you that intensity and tells a story.Editing
Yes, I convert it to B&W using a high contrast filter on green colors, so I could darken the tennis court the most I could. In my camera bag
I always carry my favorite lens with me which is an 85mm 1.4g since I am more of a portrait photographer and I absolutely love the bokeh it produces. I also carry a 50mm in case I am in reduced spaces, my SB-910 Speedlight, flash triggers, a couple ND filters cause you never now when you can get creative and play with shutter speeds, 2 batteries, at least 4 SD cards, a portable reflector, tripod and I guess that's it for a normal day...Feedback
For me the essence of photography is to capture expression and shape it the best I can using available light. This specific shot required a few things in my thought process like generating first the idea of the finished photo in my mind, scout the location a little bit, have the model showed me first some cool positions he could achieve (this wasn't a real tennis match, it was posed since I was literally in the middle of the court standing in front of him trying not to get hit) and then adjust my camera settings: when you have moving subjects in your shoot, if you want to "freeze them" in complete sharpness you would need to bump up your shutter speed and set your aperture value tosomething around 8 so you can get the ball and all the moving parts of the shot in focus.
