After weeks of low cloud cover over the Lake District I spotted some nice light happening just before sunset and instantly jumped in the car to head to Silecroft Beach. My favourite. The light had receded back behind the clouds by the time I got there, but I was already there so I figured I may as well go down and do my best. Am I glad I did!
The usual gale force wind that blows over the coastline was nowhere to be seen, heard, or felt, yet the waves were much larger than usual. Quite disconcerting. The wash from the waves was travelling a huge distance, so wet feet were an inevitability. In the end, I managed to get one of my favourite shots of the year. The wet feet were definitely worth it.
