"Bhul bhulaiya" - it literally means a "labyrinth". It is a famous monument of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is said that the 'Nawab' of Lucknow used to play 'hide-and -seek' with his wives (the Begums) in this alley ways in the evening. The alleys look so similar that it will confuse and misguide you and you would end up in a different place every time!

Behind The Lens

Location

This was shot in the famous monument named "Bada Imambada" in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. A part of this building is named "Bhul Bhulaiya" that literally translates to "the Labyrinth". It actually is an alley way full of similar looking sub ways and sub-sub ways that misleads the adventurers.

Time

It was a stop during our 1-day trip of the Lucknow city. I guess it was around mid day when this shot was taken.

Lighting

It was all natural light in the photo.

Equipment

A handheld Sony point-and-shoot camera, a pretty basic one

Inspiration

The symmetry and similar-looking nature of the view that symbolises the monument itself.

Editing

None at all. It is an original presentation.

In my camera bag

Still a pretty basic camera.

Feedback

It's all in your mind. If you can visualise what you are going to capture and how it will present itself in the actual photo, go ahead and click.
