Behind The Lens

Location

Took the photo on a abandon farm site near Astoria, South Dakota.

Time

Time was about 9am.

Lighting

Snow and hoarfrost reflect light everywhere.

Equipment

I used a Sony A6000 on a monopod and a Tamron 18-200mm lens.

Inspiration

I love old barns and then you add snow and hoarfrost, I could not pass up that photo opp.

Editing

I did change the contrast and shadows to bring out the red a bit.

In my camera bag

For just run around photographs, I have my Sony A6000 camera, a Tamron 18-200mm telephoto and a 50mm 1.8 prime lens, an old Olympus fl-50 and a Yongnuo yn-560 flash with a few cheap flash trigger. Extra batteries, a couple homemade flash diffusers, some flash gels, and a couple lens filters.

Feedback

Hoarfrost on trees can disappears very quickly so plan ahead of time, where you want to go, and then be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.
