This was taking in just a little 4 foot by 4 foot corner of my home office here in Edwardsville, Illinois.Time
This session was mid day inside a very warm little room. Taken in December of 2015.Lighting
I just used a basis speed light on this photo with the power down as low as possible. I diffused it back over my head and bounced it off the ceiling. The Christmas lights add even more.Equipment
I used my NIKON D750 with a nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens and a speedlight.Inspiration
This little girl was the ultimate Christmas blessing! Her mother has been through so much in her 30 years after battling CF and a serious motorcycle accident as well. She has overcome so much, found love and created a family of her own!Editing
Very simple post processing here. First, I just straightened it up and I do always adjust my white balance right away. Then she only needed a touch of skin correction here which a simple inverted curves layer and a brush could tackle. A beautiful baby!In my camera bag
These days I carry my beloved Nikon D750 everywhere I go! I am a prime girl at heart and adore the Sigma ART 35mm 1.4. I also carry my Nikkor 85mm 1.4 and Nikkor 70-200 2.8 to sessions. I find myself having to pull out my Nikkor 50mm 1.4 more and more often to cram in my Lensbaby Composer PRO with the sweet 35 and edge80. And a Go Pro. I probably need a bigger bag. LOL. But haul most of this around in a House of Flynn Gypsy Tote.Feedback
Inspiration comes in the strangest places so make sure to look around you. This shot was not planned from the start but we had just received a big gift basket in the mail the day before with this bow wrapped around it. Baby was sleeping peacefully and we has already knocked out some fun styled shots with her Daddy's lineman uniform / tools so I asked Mom if I could play a little and it turned out wonderful! Follow your heart. Listen to that creative voice inside of you. Think outside the box!
