Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken sometime back off a rural road in Georgia, while visiting my daughter. Since I didn't have the location set, I'm sure it was around Cairo, Georgia.
Time
This has always been one of my favorites, if my memory serves me correctly it was in the afternoon as the sun was casting shadows. I did not use a Tripod Handheld using a Sony Cybershot DSC-R-1.
Lighting
Since the sun was casting shadows I knew I would have to try and eliminate some, since I am not an expert in manual setting I used the auto mode and try different positions.

Inspiration
I take my camera everywhere I go, even if it's just the grocery store, animals have been my favorite subject and when I saw the mother and fold together; How touching that the fold stayed so close to her Mom.
Editing
This photo sat in my archives awhile before I actually did anything much to it. When the Enlight App was offered I downloaded it, explored the Tutorials and to my amazement this is one of the best on the market. I used the instructions For Sketch Mask on this particular photo as follows: Enlight Tutorial Sketch Mask-Go to Artistic>sketch, chose Preset>6H XHatch Intensity 50 Explored Tools> Rotating using slider>Mask Effect>Mask Tab Wiped away Sketch effect on subject (both horses) Finishing touch>Tap Tools Tab> Vignette>I played with intensity and Spread until I got the snowy effect I then used Pixlr App to give it a bit more snow flakes in the foreground. Now I was completely satisfied with the process.
In my camera bag
I always take my Tripod, Nikon Coolpix, Sony Cybershot, and iPhone, Olloclip For macro shots. The Sony Cybershot is a bit heavy for me now as Arthritis has been a problem, so I mostly use the Nikon.
Feedback
My experience as an long time artist and photographer is Patience, Planning and Dedication. I always try to remember to take notice of the background Elements. Branches or wires etc... try to avoid, I find it can be as easy as simply Shifting your physical position. I am particular when it comes to clutter in a photograph that takes you away from the subject. Take several shots, try to avoid glaring sun, especially on white images. Never give up on improving a photo; I knew one day I would be able to use this photo and sure enough I did with the help of processing with Enlight filters. In closing I want to thank Viewbug and all members that made this photograph so special.
